They sent me screws that are about 4 times the girth of the pictured screws, and about half the length. Cost like a dollar so the cost of sending these back will far exceed the return. I am throwing these in the garbage because there is nothing I can do with them.

Socket Cap Screws are reliable and durable and are used in many applications. They are available in a variety of head styles and materials.

Alloy Steel is steel that has been alloyed with other materials to improve overall physical properties. Steels are designated by a 4 number SAE Steel grade. The first two digits indicate the primary materials used to form the steel. The last 2 digits identify the percentage of carbon for the alloy (in hundredths). Tensile strength ranges for the alloys typically used in these fasteners range from 170,000 to 180,000 psi (pounds per square inch), making these amongst the strongest of materials.

With a high cylindrical head, socket cap head fasteners have a recessed driving area and offer high hold power at high torque levels. Hex socket drive systems are driven by hex wrenches or power tools with hexagonal bits.

A threaded fastener's size name includes information about the major external diameter (in millimeters), followed by the thread pitch (millimeters per thread), which indicates if it is coarse or fine. Coarse threads are better when working with brittle materials; they are sturdier and are easier to thread and unthread compared to fine. Coarse threading also allows for thicker coatings and platings.

Wera knows how to make screwdrivers and bits - they are the best I've owned.

To me screwdrivers are a tool I wear out pretty frequently. I pry with them, I hit them with a hammer. I grind them into different shapes. So I go through a set of screwdrivers over time.

For years I got by with a set of clear plastic handled Craftsman screwdrivers. Then I found a used set of hard-handled Snap-ons which were good, but a bit uncomfortable in my hand. Then I just started buying the Cheapo Stanleys

Then I found a set of German screwdrivers - my first set was a set of Felos and they are very very good. Recently I picked up this set of Wera's and they are the best yet. The Wera handle fits my hand like it was made for it. I've never held a screwdriver which I can get a grip on like these. They seem to be made of high quality steel, and at least early on the etching seems to work. The only downside is the green seems to show dirt pretty prominently. They clean up pretty easily. .

The short answer is "no". My job is an industrial electrician, screwdrivers are our most commonly used tool. In a side-by-side comparison with a 5 star set of screwdrivers (Klein) this is what I think:

Pros:
- Looks are very sharp. The gold tips, lazer etching and ergonomic handle look very eye-catching.
- Price. Overall, for what you get, the price is reasonable. The 5 star set of screwdrivers will run you twice as much, and you won't get a bracket for holding the more expensive set.

Cons:
- The handle is too smooth. When I used them with dirty hands (not greasy), my hand would slip on the handle. The connection I was tightening was fairly high amperage and needed to be good and tight. The 5 star set has raised rubber slits for just such applications. If you plan on having dirty hands, weigh this Con heavily.
- The lazer etching and gold tip wore off faster than expected...like a matter of days under heavy use.
- The shafts seem to bend easier, I wouldn't use them to pry at all. Not that prying is recommended.
- The shape of the handle never really worked for me. I am 6'2", and have fairly big hands, it might be OK for smaller hands. But the large part of the ergonomic handle should be closer to the shaft...in my opinion.
- Made in Czech Repulic. Con to me, may not be to you. 5 star set was Made in USA.

Overall, if you are buying these for around the house go ahead. But, if you are going to earn a living with screwdrivers, spend the extra money and avoid some frustration.

I have used this VTech DECT phone last 2 months and it has excellent voice quality. Much better than previous 2.4GHz phones.

The picture of phone's handset shown on Amazon is misleading (see reason below).

Pro's:
1. Uses DECT and gets crystal clear voice quality.
2. Battery life is very good.
3. Buttons and phone size, feel, weight are perfect.
4. Answering machine works fine and is an added bonus.

Con's:
1. Uses rechargeable AA batteries wrapped up into a connector. It would have been much easier if they had simple slots like a digital camera with AA batteries or some Panasonic DECT phones.
2. Low ring tone, can be hard to hear in a big home or with TV on.
3. Lacks some very basic features possible with the existing hardware. Examples: show the current time/date instead of "HANDSET" when phone is not in use, allow locking of keypad to avoid accidental dialing, show battery level indicator all the time and not just just when its low.

I am giving it 4 stars because the phone call features and call quality are excellent.

VTech: Fire your outsourced cheapo programmers and hire some quality American software developers who understand what customer want & get a quality product. Spend some time, thinking & using your products before putting them for sale.

This is the ORIGINAL Rayovac (PS3) Universal Smart Battery Charger which I first reviewed more than two years ago. Unfortunately, Rayovac has discontinued this excellent charger around end of 2009, and replaced it with an inferior Rayovac PS3D Universal Battery Charger (just remember 'D' stands for Dumb). So now the original Rayovac Universal Charger is getting difficult to find - which explains the increase in price.

[Original Review follows]

I already have at least half a dozen smart chargers in the house, including top-of-the-line models such as the La Crosse BC-900 and Maha C9000, but I still wanted this Rayovac Universal Battery Charger (PS3) for the following reasons:

1. It can accept C, D, and 9V batteries in additional to the standard AA and AAA cells.
2. It can handle rechargeable alkaline cells in addition to the standard NiMH or NiCd cells.
3. It has the potential to recharge up to 8 AA or AAA cells at once.

So far, I'm very satisfied with this charger. Of course it is bulky and heavy. But that's to be expected for an unit that can accept four D-cells at the same time. For home use the size and weight is not an issue at all.

I'm happy to report that this charger is a lot smarter than I previously imagined. Unlike a typical dumb charger in this price range (for example: the Energizer CHFCV Overnight Family Charger), the PS3 has four independent charging channels. That means I am free to charge different cell in any channel. Each channel comes with a status indicator LED, which goes out once the cell is fully charged. But most of all, this charger is smart enough to recognize the difference between NiMH cells and alkaline cell, and can pick the correct charging method accordingly.

When an unknown cell is inserted into the PS3, the charger first starts off with a trickle current (800mA peak current at 10% duty cycle, or an average current of 80mA). Based on the voltage profile of this cell, the PS3 can determine whether this is an alkaline cell, or a NiMH cell. After two minutes, the duty cycle is increased to 60%, so the average current is now around 480mA. For a NiMH cell, charging will continue until a negative dV/dt is detected, in which case it switches back to trickle current again. But for an alkaline cell, charging current will gradually decrease with higher terminal voltage until it reached 1.65V.

The Rayovac PS3 is designed to recharge the Rayovac 'Renewal' brand of rechargeable alkaline cells (which are now discontinued). The user manual warned against charging ordinary disposable alkaline cells, but I experimented with it anyway. Initially I observed good results in reviving a lot of spent alkaline AA and D cells. But my happiness was short-lived, because after a few weeks, some of those cells started leaking electrolyte. I was lucky that the leaks were discovered early, and they only caused minor damages to some cheaper appliances. My conclusion is that: it is not worth the risk to recharge disposable alkaline cells. You have been warned!

Back to the charger itself, I do have a complaint about its claim of "recharge up to 8 AA or AAA batteries". It turns out that each of the four charging channels can accept one to two AA or AAA cells, but the two cells are electrically connected in parallel. So in case somebody accidentally placed two cells of different battery chemistries (NiCd, NiMH, or alkaline) in the same channel, the one with lower voltage will discharge the other one. The charger may also get confused and fail to terminate correctly in such case. It is safer and faster to charge only one AA or AAA cells in each channel.

It's a shame that RayOVac has discontinued this great charger. Get it while you can, if you still can. I've used a lot of different chargers, but this one does everything, and does it well.

I already have one that's worked perfectly for months. I use it every day for NiMH batteries. It also works fine with NiCads. I bought this one while I still could, so I have a spare. Heck, at this price, I might even buy one more. Yes it's THAT good!

Anchor Hocking 16 ounce Crystal Cafe Mug: Versatile for beverages & foods! PERFECT! It takes a lot to impress me, as I think most products are junk. This is an example of an extremely well designed, perfectly functional, and absolutely beautiful product! So I write- a LOT- about this Anchor Hocking Crystal Cafe Mug: After ~ a decade of daily use, every single day I still l-o-v-e my am coffee in this jumbo capacity mug. They seem like a fine European designed & engineered product- Sturdy, heavyweight glass, perfectly weighted in the hand(s), on cold days I wrap both hands around a steaming cup of java, cocoa, or even soup broth & sip to really warm up. I serve all sorts of drinks and foods in these mugs- including home-made cocoa with plenty of room to heap mounds of mini-marshmallows on top, broth & hearty soups/stews and other vegetarian dishes, fruit salads, plain or layered deserts such as sorbet topped with fruit or drizzled with honey, ice cream sundaes, layered cake with pudding, fruit, &/or whip cream, the clear glass perfectly allows the beauty of prepared foods to show through. Fabulous for iced tea in summer, clear glass shows icy beverage with lemon slice- and holds a lot for hot days when you are thirsty. These look just beautiful on the table, coordinate with everything (since they are clear glass), & appear to be a restaurant-quality/heavy use caliber Cafe Mug. These hearty mugs go in the microwave, then to the table & finally the fridge for space-conserving leftover food storage, and because they're so smooth/rounded, they clean up VERY easily and beautifully, crystal-clear glass, either in the dishwasher or hand-washed. The handles are well-designed too- perfectly functional, no place for food particles or grease to lodge & build up over time- these mugs clean up like brand new every single time. I am very clumsy/careless with glassware, yet I break only a few of these heavy mugs each year. The slightly flared lip of the rim is thick/sturdy but without being overly bulky to drink from- just perfect- fluids comfortably flow from glass to mouth, seemingly encouraging perfect control, and without spillage. Plus, this sturdy, rounded, flared rim is really not overly prone to chipping/cracking/breakage. My occasional breakage seems to occur when loading or unloading dishwasher, and the bendable metal plastic-coated prongs of the dishwasher racks "trap/stick" a mug, & I yank on it to get it out, only to have it suddenly release with me yanking on it & I end up smashing it into something else (old dishwasher, due for replacement!). I really love the way the sturdy "stem" portion of the mug just elevates the contents inside the glass an inch off of the table for an elegant look, feel, and function. The rounded interior bottom of the mug allows it to be used as a deep bowl- just fill to an inch below the rim- great for preventing spills both while you wait for hot foods/drinks to cool and while you eat/drink contents. Also, I enjoy healthful foods (and am healthy, physically active, and slender), and these mugs serve perfectly as "portion control" measure for meals in a mug. Lastly, even after 10 years, everytime my extended family & friends visit, they all love this mug & I've given lots as gifts, everyone loves them! I always keep an extra case or two in storage, to replace them as I occasionally break one or a few, and (gasp!) just in case they are ever discontinued. I've had two of these for about a year. I use it for making coffee with a #4 Melitta filter cone directly into the glass. I like it because I can see when the glass is full, so I don't accidentally overflow like with opaque mugs. Also, it's big enough to hold a nice sized cup of coffee, with added milk if I want.

We have granite countertops, and they have held up fine with no breaks or chips. But, it is glass, so if you allow it or close neighbors to move around in the dishwasher, it could chip, because it flares out at the rim, and is not super thick there. I've never had a problem, but then, I don't overload the dishwasher.

The only minus is that the bottom is dished, so it collects and holds water in the dishwasher.

I bought this several months ago when the one that I'd used daily for several years seemed to be acting up. Then the old one went back to working perfectly and so the new one hasn't been opened. I'm glad to have it as a back-up, though, because I don't think I could go back to an obnoxious typical clock radio buzzer in the morning. This one starts off barely audible, but since I'm used to it I wake up right away (or hit the snooze a couple of times). If you don't hit something, it will get louder and louder to the point that it would wake up a hibernating bear.

I compared the RC40 to the Sony 218 "dream machine." This clock has many more features and uses AA batteries instead of the flat watch battery (meaning, I can use rechargeables). I like the dual alarm, nap and graduated alarm volume. Also the configurable snooze time. (I like everything about this clock.).

The only shortcomings are:

1. No low-battery indicator.

2. I don't believe the alarm sounds during a power outage. It only maintains the current time and sounds the alarm when the power returns.

I do love this mop. My hands never have to touch the mop, and with it spinning the water out it makes it easier and faster to mop and it dries faster this way. I would recommend this mop to everyone.

We have a menagerie of pets and I am mopping floors at least once a day to keep up with them. This mop has changed that experience into one that is more rewarding than I could have imagined. The spin function allows me to decide whether I want a wetter mop or one that is only damp...the only difference is how hard or how long I spin it, which is all done with a simple step on the pedal. The bucket is easy to clean and never too heavy because it fills with only about four or five inches of water. The bucket is also well balanced for carrying and the mop heads launder well in the washing machine. Unless someone comes up with some little elves that march out and mop the floor when it needs it, this thing is the best floor cleaning device ever invented.

At first I was a bit skeptical, mostly to do with the "medium" size, afraid that the assembly might be too tight, uncomfortable, as I normally take a large hat. With a little minor adjustment, the respirator fit quite well, thought I do nudge the arch across the nose a bit while using the mask. It is quite easy to breath through the mask, the filtering is excellent, amazing how the organic filters remove odors. I wanted a respirator primarily to wear while mowing and chopping leaves with the riding lawn mower. In the past, I would wear just a paper particle mask. This respirator is so much better. I recommend this mask highly for mower operation, don't wait until it is too late, protect your lungs......

This mast fits right and breaths well. Make sure you adjust the straps or it wil try to slide down your face a little. Don't forget eye protection too. Comes with an extra set of dust filters which is a plus. Works much better than paper masks even the good 3M ones.
